Favourite Marvel comic/movie/tv show(s): I'm just going to say X-Men overall, however I do love the MCU, Spider-Man, and Fantastic Four. I'm especially partial to TAS for X-Men & Spider-man, X-Men Evolution, X-Men films, Fantastic Four films (2005-2008), Spectacular Spider-Man, Ultimate Spider-Man. Everything Defenders from Netflix (which is part of the MCU now). The Gifted.
- Comicwise I know the most from the X-Men, and after that probably Spider-Man honestly. I've branched out a bit after the MCU into Avengers and other teams, but I still need to read a lot more. Some of my non-X-Men comic titles I enjoyed was Spider-Gwen, Hawkeye, Spider-Man/Deadpool.
- I tend to do a lot of research to catch up on things since I can't afford to buy a lot of the comics, so I usually check out the Marvel Database (prior to that existence, it was Wikipedia and the various BEAUTIFUL AND I MISS THEM GREATLY fansites of the early-to-mid 2000s)

The wide spread objections won through, and Jimmy Kimmel is back on the air, making zero concessions/bullshit apologies.
Kimmel’s show to return Tuesday, but Sinclair will continue to keep it off its ABC stations.

But not all of ABC’s affiliated stations will be carrying Kimmel’s comeback show. Sinclair, one of the country’s biggest owners of local TV stations, said its ABC affiliates will preempt the show “beginning Tuesday night.” Sinclair said it will air news programming in the time slot instead.

“Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show’s potential return,” a Sinclair spokesperson told CNN.

Sinclair’s conservative owners condemned Kimmel last week and contributed to ABC parent Disney’s decision to pull the show from the airwaves.

If there's one thing I've learned from a life with chronic illnesses, it's that daily energy is not constant, no matter what we do. Some days you can do a lot, and some days just making it to the next day is a lot. Writing is like that, too.

And sometimes, even when you have the energy for writing and no other tasks that need to get done instead, you still just don't want to write. And that's OK, too. Our brains need rest the same as our bodies. Besides, when you come back to your writing, you'll be that much fresher and eager to do it.

Forgive me a few moments of astrology talk, but I promise it's leading somewhere.

Today was a partial solar eclipse (not visible in my part of the world, but holy cats, was it felt!) and the astro-weather has been, uh... well, it's been! And when you're in these kinds of times where brains might be buzzing less with ideas and more with static, it's important to give yourself grace if you're not "as productive" as you want to be, however that looks to you.

So make sure you take time to rest! If you've written anything at all today, congrats! Celebrate it and take some time to decompress. If writing hasn't happened at all today, that's fine! Read over a piece of your writing you're proud of (whether finished or a WIP) and do something fun as a reward for being kind to yourself.

Trying the dreamwidth thing again!

I mostly post about:

my personal life, thoughts, day to day stuff. Sometimes mental health/trauma related stuff. Crafts, occasional outfit photos. Cat pics. I also recently did a huge family photo archiving project, so I want to share some cool old photos and what I know about the people in them.

My hobbies are:

I like dabbling in different types of crafts. Primarily into making beaded jewelry, but I've also been learning stained glass this year and that is really cool. Trying to get into reading again. Taking photos, doing home DIYs, watching a lot of movies and TV. I like fashion, but don't dress up much lately (trying to fix that).

My fandoms are:

not a huge fandom head in the traditional sense anymore. I'm a diehard My Chemical Romance fan since I was literally 10 years old. Also a big Nicolas Cage fan, almost finished with a quest to see every single movie of his. Can't think of many others off the top of my head but I fixate on stuff for a while and then forget about it.

I'm looking to meet people who:

are also neurodivergent (audhd here). have a wealth of different experiences and points of view. anyone who is willing to read and occasionally comment.

I'm aiming for once a week this time around, but may be more or less depending on what's going on in my life.

No TERFs, no centrists or republicans, no Zionists. I don't care if you're personally religious but I'm not and don't appreciate that perspective in regards to my own life. Marvel Stars Stand for Jimmy Kimmel: Pedro Pascal Defends Free Speech While Others Endorse Boycott

Pascal’s post came on the heels of other Marvel stars taking their support a step further by endorsing a boycott of the studio and its subsidiaries, including platforms that stream their work. Marisa Tomei, who played Aunt May opposite Tom Holland in the Spider-Man franchise (a Marvel property distributed by Sony, though she appears in Disney releases from the Avengers universe), reposted a call to “unsubscribe and boycott” platforms under the Walt Disney Company umbrella, including Marvel, ABC, ESPN, Fox Entertainment, Hulu, Pixar, Lucasfilm and Bamtech Media.

Tatiana Maslany, who starred in the title role of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, a Marvel series that debuted on Disney+, posted a behind-the-scenes photo of herself on set, urging her Instagram followers to “cancel your Disney+, Hulu, ESPN subscriptions!” Mark Ruffalo, who played the Hulk on the big screen, participated in a No Kings online event during which he weighed in. “My industry doesn’t really understand what’s happening right now, but what they do understand is our freedom of speech is being attacked.”
